The Greater Peterborough Area is home to approximately 135,000 residents. We offer an exceptional quality of life, an affordable cost of living, and access to first-rate educational institutions. We are one of Canada's most walkable cities. A safe and clean city, Peterborough is a short drive or bus trip from Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, and offers the ideal mix of city and country living. Our close proximity to major markets in Canada and the United States makes Peterborough a great place to start a business.

Peterborough values you as New Canadians – and the skills, experience, and knowledge that you bring with you. The Peterborough Immigration Partnership (PIP) formerly the Peterborough Partnership Council on Immigrant Integration has implemented a community strategy to help immigrants successfully settle into the area. This website is one of the first projects of the Council, and it has been created with the help of recent immigrants, immigrant service providers, service agencies, and local employers.
